"Touch" restaurant has a catchy name so when it was first opened (about half a year ago), we were eager to try it out. MCY always wondered what style of food they serve, so one day he drove by the restaurant and stopped right in front of the restaurant and asked me to go and grab a menu. I ran in and found out it was actually a fine dining restaurant with a very nice decoration and atmosphere. I started to feel uneasy as I felt that I looked like a rustic countrywoman. There was no waiter at the front desk at the time so I anxiously looked around to search for the menu but didn’t find any. The guests there looked at me funny so I finally had to escape the place. After getting back to the car, I blamed MCY for making me look silly in the whole affair. For this kind of thing, it should be done by someone who is as thick skinned as him.
We finally went there last month for the first time and our experience was pretty good. I loved their lamb so much that I couldn’t stop talking about it. So, on our Valentine’s Day, MCY brought me back to the restaurant.
The color scheme of the restaurant is chocolate brown, very elegant. To separate their kitchen, bar, and dining areas, they use white glass with cherry blossom branches patterns, which gives people a relaxing feeling. As soon as they sit you down, they light the candles on your table to create a romantic atmosphere. They have mostly French style cuisine but you also can find some Italian/American dishes there.
For the Appetizer, we tried out their escargot, calamari, and black bean soup. Their escargot came with 6 whole snails. Yes! The whole snail with shell! They were cooked with garlic and parsley butter. Very delicious! The butter flavor was light, which is something I liked because it revealed a more natural flavor of snail itself. Their soup was even better. It was a very thick soup, hence a strong presence of black bean’s original flavor. For the main course, their "Pistaschio Crusted New Zealand Rack of Lamb" served over pave potatoes and dried cherry braises Swiss chard Lavendar honey is absolutely my favorite, one of the best lamb rack meals I have ever eaten. Their “Filet Mignon” was not bad also. The special for the day, "Grilled Pork served with pears", was very delicious, though a bit on the dry side. This could be due to the fact we had ordered this dish well-done. The waiter told us that nowadays it is popular for pork to get cooked only medium-well. Regardless, we were still skeptical about it. For the dessert, we tried out the Raspberry sorbet. Oh…. It was so good!
Overall, I really like the food and the atmosphere there. Their service is quite slow so we think this place is for you to relax and take your time to enjoy the dining experience. Every dish has a very nice presentation to it. The food is sort of pricey but with both great quality and quantity it is worth it. The restaurant is located at the corner of Transit and
